Not only did I learn a lot about my own personal finances, I volunteered at a homeless shelter. The printable was originally designed for a class I was teaching. Every week we held a self-reliance lesson. And it was the most popular class. Homeless women with limited income could still manage their money. These free budget printables have been a hit with them.

One of the things that surprised me – when I was studying and when I was teaching others – was the lack of basic knowledge.

For example, it is not difficult to cut costs. There are hundreds of ideas on the internet. And I included some in my book, Personal Money Management.

It is not difficult to make a decision. When you have to decide for the 20th time in a row to eat that lunch you brought from home instead of running across the street for fast food, it gets tough.

If you are extremely serious about getting your money in order, now is the time to buy Personal Money Management.

I strongly recommend that you track every penny for at least a month. You’ll be amazed at where some of your money goes. The key to showing it is to write EVERYTHING down. Even a 0.50 cent soda was bought with loose change.

Most importantly, categorize everything. You’ll need to know roughly how much you’re spending per category to create an accurate budget. Most people guess how much. As a result, they almost inevitably fall short of their budget.
