You can download our FREE pumpkin stencils from our printable library (link to our library at the bottom of this page). Pumpkin sizes may vary! You may want to resize our template by a percentage (up or down) in the print settings dialog when printing, depending on the size of your pumpkin.
S Of Free Pumpkin Carving Patterns
First, trim the template so you don’t have too much excess paper and it’s just the front of the jack-o-lantern. Stick the stencil on the front of the pumpkin. It helps to cut small pieces around the paper template and in the corners to fit snugly against the mock pumpkin.
Using thumbtacks or a pumpkin tool (such as you can get in a store bought pumpkin carving kit) trace around the edge of the pumpkin template. The more holes you drill, the better your carving will be.
When you have completely defined the template with holes from the plastic mounts, remove the paper template. Your pumpkin should look like the picture below.
Cut a round hole in the top of your pumpkin, including the pumpkin stem that will be used as a handle for the lid. Save this point for later. Use the scoop tool from the Pumpkin Carving Kit or a large spoon to scoop out all the seeds and guts from the pumpkin and set aside.

Use the knife from your Pumpkin Carving Kit or a serrated kitchen knife to carve the pumpkin face out of the pumpkin. Remove the pieces and discard. Once the pumpkin is carved, add a candle, LED candle, or LED pumpkin light to the inside of the pumpkin.

You can buy a pumpkin carving kit that includes a small saw and other tools to help you cut out your design, or you can just use whatever you have in your kitchen drawer. A sharp knife, a large spoon, a sharp object such as a toothpick and a sharp paring knife is all you need, along with a large bowl to put the whole pumpkin in!
