This is my favorite of the rainbow loom bracelets – the Hexafish! It is very intricate and complex and looks like a bracelet. I made it a little bigger than my wrist so I can wear it as a bracelet too.

This hexafish bracelet took me two hours over several days and the end result was perfect.

B.S. I recommend making the original Rainbow Loom Fishtail Bracelet before tackling the Hexafish. A hexafish bracelet is like a fishtail bracelet six times.

Rubber Band Bracelet Loom

If you buy the Rainbow Loom Kit above, you’ll get a hook, C-clip and some bands – no need to buy anything else! 😀

To start the bracelet, remove one of the loom pieces (so you only have two rows of pegs) and make sure the pegs are square.

Now, take your first strap and make a figure eight loop from 1-2 sticks. Then place a belt from 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6 and 6-1 as shown in the photo.

These strips can be any color you want because we cut them at the end. I used black because I don’t want to waste the colors I use regularly.

Hexafish Rainbow Loom Bracelet

Using your hook, pull eight loops on the top loop, moving from the outside to the inside. It should look like photo number 4.

I like to go through each row from left to right, but it doesn’t matter what order you do. 🙂

For each layer, add a new strap around six pegs, then take the bottom strap and stretch it over the top two straps on each peg. Add another strip around six sticks and repeat the process.

This hexafish bracelet comes out of the bottom of the loom so you can watch it grow as you work. 😀

Add additional strips until you reach the desired length. (I’ll show you how to finish the end of the loom in the next two steps!)

The bracelet will be flat and awkward when it comes off the loom, but pulling the end will tighten it and bring it into the right shape.

Once you reach the desired length, loop over all the additional strips on the peg until each one remains.

Now you will need to loop the straps so that they only show the photos on three sticks.

How To Make The Single Bracelet

I’ll take the loop on peg 3 and move it to peg 2, peg 1 to peg 6, and peg 5 to peg 4.

You have the original loops of the three sticks, put another band around those three so it forms a triangle.

Pass the two lower straps over each peg. Now take the remaining three loops on the pegs and join them to the center peg next to you. Tie these three straps together, and you can pull it through the loom.

Pull the bracelet back at this point to make sure it is in the correct shape. As you can see in the second photo, it’s really fun before you stretch it. 😛

Beaded Rubber Band Loom Bracelets

The hexafish is the absolute trickiest part of the bracelet, but it’s crucial for a good finish. If it is like this, it will be difficult to attach it to the C-clip.

At the end of the bracelet, you’ll see several large loops placed across six sets of two straps. You are going to transfer six sets of bands back to the loom. Make sure to get both straps.

The last set is hard to get – but keep digging with the ring and you’ll get it under.

Once all six loops are back on the loom, double check that there are two loops on each peg and finally cut off the excess loops.
