4. Tags are the first thing you want to put on Santa’s body. The best way to talk about it is to think in terms of layers, what you see first is what falls last. Platelet metal with the body of Santa.

5. Sew the mark on the body. Here we have used a simple zigzag stitch, but you can use a straight stitch, triple stitch or any other stitch you may have on your sewing machine. You can also sew the stickers with holes or create a fun design with stitches or backstitching. This is an opportunity to be creative!

6. Nest, continuation of the nest. Line them up tightly and attach them to the body with a hot iron. Embellish with fine stitching details on the shirt to create texture.

7. For belts and belt loops, we decided to use felt. We like to use Fabric Fuse to fasten fabric easily and quickly. A small one and it just holds the belt in place while we sew.

8. Again, we used a small fabric fastener for the belt. The stitch used is machine stitch but can easily be done by hand.

9. The last thing to continue are the buttons. You can really use your imagination here by placing real buttons or just placing felt buttons. When choosing such details, it is important to consider whether Santa will be played by a small child or whether he will sit on a home clock. Another option is to press the buttons manually.

Now the front is ready, set it aside and work on the rest of your Santa Doll!

Thanks for joining me today on Thermoweb! Christmas is my favorite season and I look forward to seeing all of your Santa hats appear this December!
