We’ve seen a few posts on social media over the past few days with people wondering what happened to USPS Priority Mail Prepaid Flat Rate Stamped Envelopes.

Prepaid envelopes have disappeared from the Post Office (USPS Postal Service and Supplies website), leading to confusion as to what happened to them and whether they will be returned.

Last August, the US Postal Service announced on its Link website that the first uniform size stamped prepaid envelopes had been released and would be available only until January. or while supplies last.

The USPS says it is phasing out prepaid envelopes because their use has declined over the years and production and handling costs have increased.

On the official USPS Mail Store website, customers can choose from six existing Priority Mail prepaid flat-rate envelopes, which include two premium letters, replaced by USPS Priority Mail stamped uniform envelopes.

New consignors benefit from the Forever Stamp feature, as the old consignor’s stamp value is tied to the specific stamp value at the time of purchase. With the new couriers, Forever Mail allows crews to use couriers regardless of future rate adjustments.

Since postage rates have changed in 2022 Jan. 9, older mailers will require additional postage to be used today (such as mail items with Castillo de San Marcos special stamps).

Unfortunately, because of this confusion, some flat-rate shippers are selling at ridiculous prices on Amazon and eBay.

Even worse, this special Amazon listing is for 2016. USPS Priority Mail Prepaid Flat Rate Stamped Envelopes for $6.45 postage.

Assuming this is a legitimate product sold by Amazon, shippers will still need to add $2.50 in postage to mail these envelopes today! It’s definitely not a cheap deal, especially when alternatives can be ordered via USPS.

How To Mail Large Envelopes & Flats

Also, just last month we reported on several fake stamps being sold on eBay and Facebook. Although it is unlikely that much money can be made creating fake USPS Priority Mail Prepaid Flat Rate Stamped Envelopes, people should be careful when purchasing any postal products online.

The Post Store is an online retail online store operated by the US Postal Service and the only certified online shopping portal that offers retail USPS postal products such as USPS-issued stamps and postage. We have already paid.

Note: USPS-authorized shipping solution providers (including some online marketplaces where users can print shipping labels) offer commercial services that print USPS postage on shipping labels. The letter, which was removed from the Post Store in mid-January, contained a link to order a package from the Post Store, which directed to a “File or page request” page.

The good news is that from January 13 the shipper is again using the new SKU which is EP14PE_X.

Usps To End Prepaid Flat Rate Stamped Envelopes

There doesn’t appear to be any changes to the product lineup, so it’s unclear why the USPS removed the identifier and replaced it with a new SKU. One possibility is that the postal service changed suppliers and that caused the SKU to be updated.

As a side note, the premium gift card flat rate envelopes were also discontinued last year and, like Prime Mail’s premium rate stamped envelopes, are no longer available at the Post Office.
