Packaged this adorable cat cave comes in a cotton bag that can later be reused as a laundry bag or gym bag – the packaging couldn’t be more durable!
Care: Wash hands gently with warm water. If still wet, return to original shape, then towel dry.
Dimensions: Cat Caves are handmade so each piece is unique, dimensions stated are approximate – but may vary from cave to cave.
What Wet Felting Means: Wet felting uses only soap and water. Warm soapy water will swell the fur and loosen the top scaly layer. By hand, the wool is pulled from soapy water, pressed and shaped. The movement in the hot water creates a tight bond between the individual wool flakes and the fibers, gradually forming a firm felt.

This cat cave will quickly become your cat’s favorite place. It’s amazing to watch your pieces shrink in the washing machine and the fibers tangle and change. In addition, the wool is bonded to each other and provides extra warmth for the cave fur. There are no complicated stitches (almost half are knitted). As with all my felt patterns, these are designed to be easy to make and the washing machine can do all the hard work! If you’ve never experienced it before, you’ll probably be hooked!

A: 8-9 hours for an average traveler. I would estimate 15 hours for a beginner. You can undo almost any step and wait a few days before starting over if necessary.
A: I recommend doing a few small things with wet felt before trying this. There are free tutorials for simple projects. Specifically, I would try to cook. A cat cave project is a big investment of time and money for a beginner, so I would practice on smaller projects first.

Felt rugs, carpets, and other natural wool products do not require washing. Wool naturally repels dirt, and usually airing felt shoes is enough to remove the odor.
If necessary, wash the item by hand or in a washing machine with wool or hand wash using a wool detergent. Items should be washed and rinsed in hot water at the same temperature as felt items will shrink due to temperature changes.
