Greg Huffley’s Diary of a…wait. Children do not have a diary. The girls have a diary. It’s just a collection of ideas. Great ideas. Greg is your high school kid. The younger brother does not do anything wrong in the eyes of his parents. His brother does mean and annoying things to him, like when he says it’s time to get up to get ready for school when it’s actually midnight. Greg starts high school with his best friend, Rowley. None of them are famous like the Twice a Day kids, and his newspaper (not a newsletter) informs us of their stories to survive. Rowley is more popular than Greg and Greg and worries about their friendship. Besides high school life, the reader has his own stories. Greg’s thank you note has one of the funniest captions: “Dear LORETTA TAJE, Thank you so much for the great pants! How did you know I wanted this for Christmas? I love how the pants look on my legs! All my friends are jealous that I have pants.

Late for the Sky, a Cincinnati, Ohio company, shipped more than 700 custom board games to a Midland Walmart in January.

Dogopoly Board Game

The board game, which sells for $17 to $20, features Tridge, the Chippewa Nature Center, the Midland Arts Center and the Alden B. There are Midland locations such as Doe’s home and studio. It also includes local high schools, rivers and businesses, including Cottage Creamery and Pizza Sam’s.

Michael Schulte, director of marketing for Late for the Sky, said that they do their best to research each city before turning it into a board game. It usually takes three to four weeks to assemble a game, he said. In addition to checking city and ward websites, check website pages to see which locations are popular.

“We want to make sure it’s as accurate as possible, so we have one person do the research and then someone else checks that person’s choices and it goes back and forth,” he said.

The games are then manufactured in Cincinnati and shipped to Walmart stores across the country and Canada. Late for the Sky has been in business for 35 years and has a team of about 30 people, Schulte said.
