And that’s okay! That’s why there are options! But, even Goldilocks would agree that this wardrobe says, “juuuuuuuuuust! It has all the features families need. A complete unicorn.
The stateroom I’m about to share with you checks all the boxes and is perfect for a family (up to 4 people). Information can be hard to find and even harder if you’re looking for pictures, but I was really lucky!

Freedom Of The Seas Guide & Review
These cabins are classified as 3M Sea Sea Cabins. They can accommodate up to four guests with two twins that can be attached to a Royal Queen and create a double sofa bed, and they are 211 square meters. The cabin #’s are 1892, 1894, 1896, 1898, 1900, and 1902. It’s important to note that this post only applies to these specific cabin numbers as there is another 3M on board but not the features same as they have. these six.
1) NEW. They are updated with new finishes, furniture, cabinetry and bathrooms. The beauty of these rooms is similar to a new Oasis or Quantum Class ship.
2) They are great! New ships come with all the bells and whistles, no doubt about it, but Liberty class ships don’t have any advantages you won’t find on new ships, one of which is space and storage. With new ships, designers and engineers have really gotten their money’s worth when it comes to square footage, and like real estate around the world, square footage at sea comes at a reasonable price and lines have found a way cruise. filling every nook and cranny with an opportunity to generate income. Therefore, if I get these new updated rooms that much, I get major bonus points for me. It feels like a mini Jr Suite on an Oasis class ship.
3) Tons of storage! These cabinets offer a wall of storage space with multiple drawers, cabinets, and hidden shelves in addition to a walk in closet style with shelves. Plenty of room to store clothes, strollers, pack and play during the day – heck, you could even take a little one to take a nap in this cabin if need be.

4) Big window! BALCONY snobs – you can keep your balcony! I will take a nice sea view room all day and a cruise is completely spread from the interior to the rooms. A balcony alone does not make a room. This is a beautiful cabin and I would call it over the balcony on this ship. I love the floor to ceiling windows like the Panoramic Ocean View rooms available on deck 12 and forward. They have a small bump behind the curtain that makes a small viewing area or hiding place for the kids.
5) Price – they are the same price as other 3M marine view cabins on board, although in my opinion they could command a premium.
6) And my last feature that makes this cabin perfect for families: SIT, SIT, SIT! As I mentioned above, these cabins are located in a quiet area which might not be a winner for everyone, but for families, it doesn’t get much better. Let me show you why!
In the photo above, these 3M cabinets are running to the left. These cabins are entered through a door that leads into a quiet and secluded hall. See how easy it is to join Adventure Ocean and Kindergarten? It doesn’t get any better than this, my friends.

Splashaway Bay and the Windjammer are on your doorstep. Walk out of your hallway and down one step and you are right at the entrance to Splashaway Bay as you face forward and when you turn back you are right at the Windjammer.
Plus all your main dining rooms will be at the end of the ship so if you’re in one of the cabins you can take the stairs straight down without waiting for the lifts if you’re in a hurry. It also means you won’t have to spend time traversing the length of the ship every time. You are able to easily and efficiently reach the parts of the ship that you will have the most access to.
This cabin packs all the punch and is perfect for family space, beauty, and LOCATION on a super upgraded ship! We have a winner! Choosing the perfect family cabin can be challenging and sometimes it feels like looking for a needle in a haystack! We hope this helps you start your search!
Freedom Class ships offer several family-friendly cabins and staterooms, as well as family-friendly connecting cabin configurations. As your family grows, it may seem like you’re going to have to shove everyone into the closet or start saving fancy clothes. While these two remain a favorite, there are other options such as connecting cabins, side cabins, and lesser known family cabins.

These cabins are cool and the kids love them because they HAVE BUNGALOW BEDS! I mean, really, what else do you want?
They provide plenty of space and portholes to get outside views without the worry and anxiety that comes with balconies.
These cabins accommodate up to 6 guests and are located on decks: 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, although the cabins on deck 2 are located amidships, not forward.
On the front of cabin 8200 1K ultra-large sea view Family feels like two full bedrooms because instead of curtains for the big beds they have a real door and the Royal king bed is in a completely separate room with a curtain and then there is a small sitting area . The room therefore feels like a 2 bedroom suite.
Inside Royal Caribbean’s Revamped Freedom Of The Seas
You can see the 8200 and 8500 cabinets at the top of the image below. They are in the same places on deck 6 (6500/6200), 7 (7500, 7200), and 9 (9500/9200).
Below you can see Deck 2 1K Ultra Spacious Oceanview cabins located in the middle, instead of forward, and they are cabin numbers 2568 and 2268.
I really like this because one cabin is an ocean view balcony and the other is a wide ocean view with a baby port window. This set is great because you get two of everything! Two bathrooms, closets, vanities, refrigerators….amazing space!
Luxury cabins 9218/9518 are 3M Sea Ocean View (211sqft) and connect to 3B Ocean View Balconies 9220/9520.

These connecting cabins are ideal for families of 6-8 ppl including those with small children. The balcony cabin connects to the ocean view cabin through internal doors, making it the perfect family configuration without worrying about children opening the balcony doors and adults not giving up on the balcony life.
You can see on both the Starboard and Portside the photo below cabins 9218/9220 on the left and 9518/9520 on the right. The arrow shows that these cabins connect.
For the same 3M/3B combo configuration above there are 9696(4B)/9701(4V) port side and 9396(4B)/9401(4V) starboard. These connection arrangements are located at the rear of the ship and categories 4V (Interior) and 4B (balcony sea view) can sleep up to 4 in total and possibly 5 if the permit is per package and plays for children under 3 years of age. This is another great option for those little ones who don’t want access to the balcony while sleeping in the cabin. The main difference between these and the ones above is that the interior here is a real interior and there is no bay window. For others, who have mildly sensitive skin, this can be a bonus!
These connect to deck nine but the same configuration is found on deck 8. However, these are not only connected and compact but would be a good choice for families with older children who want to be close: 8698/ 8701 port side, 8398/8401 starboard. There is also the same suite on deck 10 with side cabins rather than links but they are separate sections. Pairs are 1692(3B)/1694(4M) port and 1392(3B)/1394(4M) starboard.
