Moses Parting The Sea Craft – Even if I’m not doing my best, it’s good to get back into the swing of things. Before I knew it, Monday was gone. On Tuesday we started with the flannel board (as I mentioned in my last post) telling the story of how Moses led the Israelites through the Red Sea in different ways and finished with the clip of the Prince of Egypt. I saw Ian later that day.

But I don’t know if I found any connection with him. We talked a bit about the story over the next couple of days, but life got busy and I won’t be back today (until Friday). While we were working on the pages for the Bible notebook, we just talked a little bit about the story.

We started this business at DTLK-bible.com. Ian adhered the pieces to cardstock (some of our pages are very slippery so I thought I’d use that from there) and Ian added some fish stickers. Then, for a special touch, The water part is painted bright blue.

I will be reviewing it every week as we read through our Bible notebooks, so I know with luck he will get it eventually. It was definitely a bad week. For some reason itunes won’t open and I’ve never been able to reinstall it. So we have no plans to listen. We already have (and plan to do) a series of five books about our Bible stories. They are never opened. On the other hand, Yesterday we did a big “nature study”. We went to a park with a pond and saw some ducks and turtles. We even found the remains of baby lobsters which fascinated Ian. I love being more intentional about incorporating nature studies into our schedule. As in Charlotte Mason’s reading.

I decided to make it a part of my children’s education. Our days are not a complete waste without biblical teaching. Weeks like these make me really appreciate that I started trying “school” habits long before I considered officially homeschooling. It will definitely take some time to make it a more solid part of our schedule.
