Years ago, when my girls were little, I created this simple reward scheme to encourage them to behave. Both were so busy and energetic that it was very difficult to do what was asked of them.

Fast forward about 7-8 years and now we have a spirited little boy and the printable prize chart is back. I made a few changes to the original and now we have a Girl’s Prize Table and a Boy’s Prize Table.

I kept this in mind when creating this editable rewards chart template. You can easily handwrite tasks and rewards with a pen or pencil. If you’re a bit savvy, you can add text directly to the PDF before printing.

All you really need is a printed copy of the reward chart and something to write with it. If you want to raise the bar, laminate free printable award charts so they can be reused. Don’t forget to have dry erase markers nearby. If you don’t have a laminator and you’re not looking for one in the market, these self-laminating sheets are ideal. I use them all the time and they are great.

CHEAP LAMINATOR HACK: Another easy and cheap alternative to a laminator is packing tape. Use a few strips to cover the entire surface of the prize table so it can be reused.

The great thing about free printables is that they are FREE. Most printables come with a PDF file that you can download and print directly to your home printer. There is also no need for any special software or special paper. Copy paper works well.

Printing Tip: When printing at home, change your print settings to “Best” for the best possible quality. You can find this setting in the Quality section. You can choose between 300 dpi, 600 dpi and 1200 dpi. 600 dpi is ideal. THE AND

If you’re worried about using too much ink, definitely try 300 dpi first. Depending on what you are printing, 300 dpi may be sufficient.

The best way to create a print is to use the Canva website. Canva has many templates that you can choose from and modify.

If you want to print from scratch, you can do that too. You can do this by clicking the “Create Design” button at the top right of the screen, and from there you can select a specific size or create your own custom sizes.

Once you’ve chosen a template or blank page to create from scratch, add graphics and text using the menu on the left. Once you like the design, click the “DOWNLOAD” button in the upper left corner.

Select “Print PDF” from the drop-down menu, then click Download. The printout will download to your computer (by default the downloads folder on your computer) and you can print it from there. Parents are hard! My husband and I struggled with raising our children, but nothing worked. The hardest part of the day was sleeping. My daughters refused to stay in bed! We finally decided to try something new and I created these simple reward charts.
