Bow Tie Pattern For Baby – We sell tons of vintage bows at our local store. We could never have them in stock, so we started making them! Making bow ties with a clasp is easy. Just follow these steps and you can create tons of different colors in half a day…
1. For sewing projects that we do over and over again, we like to make paper patterns to save. The large piece measures 9 inches by 4.5 inches. You will also need a small piece of 1.25″ x 2.5″ matching. 2. Iron the fusible interfacing onto the back of the large piece and trim the runners if necessary. 3. Fold the long edges towards the middle. 4. Both ends open to the middle. At this point I like to iron it in square folds for extra crisp edges! 5. Fold your square in the center to create a bow shape and sew along the folds. 6. Sew on the back of the bow on both sides (we bought ours on Etsy in the Thrift section). 7. Fold a small piece of fabric as in step 3, iron, then fold and sew in the center of the bow! 8. Done! It’s dress time!

For Day 3 of #12daysofchristimasfreebies Made for Mermaids for me … a size 6 fabric bowl lid. You can use this time and again instead of cling film. Perfect for homemade treat gifts, potlucks or to hide leftovers. Add it to our other kitchen or reusable freebies for a great gift! # #pattern My daughter saw this dress (see next photo) and asked me to make it for her. 😍 I knew I could use #carissa’s new template to make it. I added a skirt with a #florence pattern with a pleat at the bottom. It makes me miss the days of her asking me to recreate princess dresses, but I’m glad she still likes me to make her things. 🥰 I love the dress options on the new #carissapattern, but the real reason I made this was because I wanted to elevate a basic dress. 😍 This is what makes my clothes and what attracts me the most in my everyday clothes. The square cut faux corset cut is great, but the crop and top options are simple. They can be layered, tucked in or out, worn with different bottoms and easily worn for day or night! Don’t forget to grab it while it’s on sale ❤️ #patterns #butterflies love little boys. Bow ties are great because they are so easy to make. You just need to know how to sew in a straight line and fold things in half.

Cut two rectangles from the fabric. One square should be 4.5″x8″ and the other 1.5×3″.
** Measurements above are for a small bow to be worn by a baby or toddler. For the large bow, your squares should be 6″x11″ and 2″x4″**
Take your large square and fold it in half – right sides together. Sew with a 1/4″ seam allowance.
Then trim it a bit (technically you don’t have to, I just think it will look better).

Turn out on the right side. Make a seam in the center – this will be the back of the bow.
Now follow the same steps with the small square. Sew right sides together leaving a 1/4 inch seam allowance.
Turn it inside out – this can be tricky because it’s so small, I’d recommend using a pin to help you.
Then sew the edge with an outside seam – I used a 1/8″ seam allowance here. You’ll turn it right side out again.

Now the bow will take the shape of the bow. To fold it, you need to first make the folded middle look like an “m”, then fold the edge again.
You can sew it by hand with a needle or hot glue to keep it in place. To be honest, hot glue is the easiest because you need to go through many layers with the needle.
Go back to the small circle (middle part) and use the beach shoe to break a small hole.
Do you want to know the secret of the clip? This is a clip that is used for locked earrings. I found a 12 pack for $3 (but then I also used my 40% off coupon so it was an even better deal) at Hobby Lobby. I’m sure you can find similar ones at other craft stores.

Pull the clip through the hole. If you want to put something over your open seam to prevent it from fraying, you can use fabric glue or clear mirror.
Pull the larger part of the tie through the middle circle and reattach the metal circle to the tie with hot glue.
** I’ve had a few people ask me if the clip would interfere with someone wearing a tie. My son isn’t old enough to tell me it bothers him, but it doesn’t seem to. If you want to hide the clip, I’d recommend a small piece of sentiment.**I think it’s generally accepted that small dresses are the cutest things in formal wear. Weddings, birthdays and holidays are a great excuse to put your baby on the knee and just wait and see what happens next.”

The main component of this DIY is a regular men’s tie. Buy it new, search your dad’s closet, or get an old one. Yarn shop yarns are a great way to get 100% silk at a fraction of the cost.
Start by using a stick or a sharp knife to completely separate the knot. Remove the lines, tags and extra wires, but keep the spacer (white in this picture). Iron the fabric of the tie to remove any wrinkles.
From the patterned fabric, you will cut two pieces: BOW BODY (7.5″ x 5″) and CENTER LOOP (6″ x 2″). Cut a 3 x 2 inch piece of filling from the center.
Start with the body square of the bow. Fold it in half lengthwise (right sides together) and sew the long side. All seam allowances in this guide are 1/4 inch.

Fold the body of the bow in half (right sides together) and sew the short ends together.
Fold the center of the body into an “M” shape to create a classic butterfly look.
Wrap this around the body of the bow in the center. The pin you need to sew to make a loop for the middle of the bow tie. Remove the body of the bow.
Secure the center point to the body of the bow with a pair of hand stitches at the back corners.
