To follow the tutorial, use the blue lines as a guide for the step you are on. For example, from the second step you will notice that the base of the pot is drawn in blue. This way you will know which part of the pot you need to draw in the current step.

The first step is to draw a border for your pot. You can do this by starting with a rounded rectangle. Be sure to leave enough space above and below your rectangle. You will draw the stem and flower above this rectangle and the base of the pot below it.

Second, you will draw the base of your pot under the rounded rectangle you just drew. The base will be a little more than twice the height of the rim of your pot.

Third, you will draw two lines that will become the rib of your pot. This will help you add interest to your drawing and make it look fantastic.

The fourth step is to draw the base of your flower head. This will be a simple circle above your pot. You want to make this circle slightly off-center.

The fifth step is a favorite of many – the flower petals! Now you will draw some big fluffy and beautiful flower petals around the base you just made. Once done, your flower should look like the one shown above.

Now you want to draw five lines on each flower petal. Start your lines thick and taper to a point as you move away from the head of your flower.

Now it’s time to attach a stem to your floating flower. No spooky ghost flowers here! To make your stem, simply draw two curved lines from the bottom of the flower to the pot.

For step 8, love the stem of your flower by adding two leaves on each side. For a natural looking flower, draw one of the leaves larger than the other.

Add some detail to the two sheets you just drew by drawing a line on each sheet. Just like you did with the lines on your flower petals, add varying thickness to those lines. Start your line thin, gradually thicken it in the middle and then taper at the end.

Do it! You now have a beautiful flower design. If you want to improve it a bit, see the next step.

I also added a simple floral doodle. Just draw a stem. Add some ram lines and write some circles at the end of each of the lines.

The tulip doodle is next. Create a stem longer than the roses (you’ll want your flowers to be different heights to add interest).
