Today, we’re going to show you how to make a fabric Christmas tree ornament with a free printable pattern! I was looking for some simple holiday themed sewing projects that could serve as gifts and when I came across these little fabric trees I fell in love! How sweet are these?! I love a good Christmas decoration. If you’ve ever been to one of those Christmas wonderland stores, you’ve probably gotten sticker shock at some of the decorations. The good thing about this fabric tree decoration is that you can do it for very cheap and it still looks great. The included free pattern makes it very easy to cut out the tree shape so that you get a beautiful and classy decoration. I used a flannel fabric in my scrap pile, but you can use felt or any fabric you like. The best part is that this makeup is very easy to customize. You can make something fancy and bright or go traditional and simple like me. The decision is yours.
If you’re lucky enough to have some matching fabric in your scraps, you can make this for less than a dollar. For the stuffing, I used some leftover polyfill from another project and some jute yarn. No need to be special. Gather your remaining resources or save from the list below and let’s get started!

The first step in how to make a fabric Christmas tree ornament with the free pattern tutorial is to print and cut out the included free printable pattern. You can wash, dry and press the fabric before you start, but it’s up to you. Use the pattern to cut out two tree shapes from your fabric.
Next, you will need to cut a piece of string to hang your ornament. I chose to use twine, but you can use any string you have on hand. Cut the length of string (or whatever you have) into 8.
Now we will work on installing decorations for sewing. Close the rope you cut
