Parting Red Sea Bible Craft

Parting Red Sea Bible Craft – It’s nice to be back in the swing of things, even if I haven’t been doing my best. Monday passed before I found out. On Tuesday we told the story of Moses leading the Israelites through the Red Sea in different ways (as I discussed in my last post). We started on the flannel board, read some Bible books, and ended with a clip from The Prince of Egypt. Later, Ian comes to see

, but I’m not sure if he saw a connection. We’ve been talking a little about history in the past few days, but life has been a mess, and as of today (Friday), we haven’t gotten back to it. And all we did was talk a little bit about the story while making the pages for our Bible notebooks.

We started this work from DTLK-bible.com. Ian glued the pieces to cardboard (some of our pages turned out to be too thin, so I think that’s what I’ll use from here on out) and let Ian add fish stickers that were lying around. For some reason iTunes won’t open for me and I haven’t been able to reinstall it. So we don’t have a playlist to listen to. I had a series of Before Five books that were selected for Bible stories (and even planned) and we never opened them. On the other hand, a “natural study” was conducted yesterday. We went to a park with a lake, saw some ducks and turtles, and saw the carcasses of small crustaceans that Ian was just fascinated by. I want to think more about incorporating nature studies into our curriculum. Since reading Charlotte Mason’s

I am determined to make it a part of my children’s education. All this suggests that our days without Bible lessons are not a total loss! Weeks like this really make me happy that we’ve started trying to get into the “school” routine before we worry about “official” schooling. It will definitely take some time to make it a more solid part of our schedule!
