Diaper Shaped Invitations – DIYers have taken the country by storm, and what can I say, I’m definitely guilty of jumping on this thrifty bandwagon. Last year my best friend asked me to host/plan her baby shower and of course I was happy to oblige, but since it was a college night I knew I would have my hands full of DIY projects. The first task on my checklist? 50 baby invitations, yes you read that right, 5-0. After getting the guest list, I knew right away that buying pretty personalized cards was out of the question, it would easily skyrocket to over $100. Instead, since I had most of the tools at home, I only bought about $30 worth of materials to make these diaper themed baby shower invitations.
Sweet, isn’t it? ! I searched many inspiration images and combined several ideas to create this look. It’s quite easy to do, but to be honest, it takes a lot of time; However, I think the end result was worth it.
Diaper Shaped Invitations
Since my cardstock was 12″ x 12″, I had to cut them into 8 ½” x 11″ sheets to print the diaper design from my printer. You also want to cut the neutral colored card stock into 4″ x 5 ½” pieces, then the white printer paper into 3 ½” x 5″ pieces.

If you want to save time, try finding a guillotine paper cutter. I actually went to Kinko and used theirs and let me tell you, it cut my cutting time in half!
Print this diaper pattern on the blank side of the patterned card stock. Before you start printing, make sure the page size options are set to “actual size” or “100%” in the printer options.
Then download this invitation template and enter the appropriate information. Print this on your 3 ½” x 5″ white printer paper.
Use your tape roller to adhere and center your white printer paper to the neutral colored card stock.

Adhere the flaps (printed side only) using an adhesive roller, then fold over the layer and press firmly.
Since I made 50 invitations, I had to tie 150 ribbons, which was probably the hardest part of making this card. Until 75
Tapes, I honestly wanted to throw the reel out the window. Make sure to take breaks or I promise your fingers will cramp.

The items are of excellent quality. I have a recommendation and the seller should post a photo where the actual size can be estimated. I know she listed the measurements, but the pictures are really important and I buy them based on how big they look. 😭 I could resell them or use them.
